The Cell Biology of Virus Infection Unit, Institute of Molecular Virology, University Hospital of Muenster, Muenster, Germany offers two positions for

PhD students in Molecular Virology and Cell Biology

Part-Time with 25 (hours/week)
 (Germany salary grade: E 13 TV-G-U, 65 %)
TV-L E13 Research Scientist

The positions are available from 01.10.2016/1.11.2016 for 36 months with a potential extension.
Our research focuses on investigating host-pathogen interactions with a strong emphasis on the cell biological mechanisms. The successful applicants will investigate the molecular mechanisms on how small DNA tumor viruses infect cells. The positions are financed by the European Research Council.

Required qualifications:  
  • MSc in Biology/Cell Biology/Virology or similar;
  • background in cell biology or virology, ideally experience with live cell imaging, superresolution microscopy, molecular imaging and/or computational image analysis;
  • experience in working with proteins, cell culture (epithelial cell lines, organoids),
  • strong motivation for research and interdisciplinary approaches
