PhD positions in Immunology, Epigenetics, Bioinformatics, and Cell Biology at IMPRS-IEM

The International Max Planck Research School for Immunobiology, Epigenetics, and Metabolism is the successor program to the IMPRS-MCB PhD program and is organized by the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics and the University of Freiburg. Since its founding in 2006, IMPRS has strived for excellence in graduate education and training for our students.

Our scientists are internationally renowned experts in their fields and you will have a chance to profit from their expertise. You will also have an opportunity to interact with high-profile international speakers hosted by our faculty and build up your scientific network by attending local and international conferences.

IMPRS-IEM hosts a very diverse program with 75% of our students coming from outside of Germany. The program language is English and German language skills are not necessary to apply.

Activities and responsibilities

Qualification profile

  • MSc, MRes, Diploma or an equivalent degree in Biology, Biomedicine, Chemistry or related sciences, to be obtained latest by the start of the fall term in September 2019
  • Practical experience in the lab working on scientific projects
  • Excellent English language skills and the desire to work in a dynamic international team

We offer

All PhD students are given a student contract that includes health and retirement insurances, as well as paid vacation and sick leave.
