Group Leader Vectorology (f/m/d)

Full-time and permanent

to join our team, and lead the Vectorology group responsible for the design, generation, and analytics of AAV vectors for all internal and external projects.

Your key responsibilities

  • Shape and drive core activity of the department, in close contact with the department head
  • Design vectors tailored to the needs of the programs
  • Establish robust small-scale processes (<10 L) for diverse AAV vectors
  • Deliver research grade AAV vectors
  • Utilize a spectrum of methods for AAV vector characterization
  • Close coordination with the other groups of the department to ensure optimal project progress
  • Provide general scientific expertise about vector design and production to the team
  • Openly communicate with your team members, project leaders and members from other teams (internal and external)

Your ideal qualifications

  • You have completed your Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry or similar, with relevant professional academic and/or industrial working experience
  • You have a gene therapy background and substantial hands-on experience with AAV vector generation
  • You have a good understanding of process development for biologics, ideally viral vectors
  • You have profound knowledge in vector quantification methods (qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA) and other assays for vector characterization
  • Your experience includes design of expression cassettes and ideally working with engineered capsids
  • You have several years of experience in successfully leading a team
  • You have excellent organizational skills, ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, paired with the competence for trouble shooting
  • You are collaborative, helpful, reliable and determined
  • The position requires fluent command of the English language - knowledge of German is a plus

Die Vergütung für vergleichbare Positionen liegt im Mittel bei circa 58.080,00 € brutto im Jahr.
