The position starts as soon as possible and is limited to 31.10.2017. The period of employment is governed by § 2 Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. habilitation thesis).
Position and Requirements
In this project, network coding will be used to toggle the specific challenges in error prone environments. The candidate will research and develop network coding algorithms for these environments and implement possible approaches and solutions on different platforms. Finally an integration on the Tomahawk 4 chip at TU Dresden is planned. The candidate will work closely with other groups in the resilience path as well as in other paths.
We aim at attracting the best talent in the respective research fields and look for: a university and an outstanding PhD degree (or equivalent) in computer science or electrical engineering; an independent, target- and solution-driven work attitude; inter- and multidisciplinary thinking; strong motivation and interest to join one of the most ambitious interdisciplinary research clusters; very good interpersonal and communication skills; in particular, the ability to effectively work in collaborative research efforts; good leadership skills, ability to motivate young researchers; fluency in English - written and oral.
