Scientist (f/m/d) - Advanced Therapeutical Medical Products
Purpose of your Job
As Scientist (f/m/d), you will support customer projects within our contract research environment, working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams across scientific operations.

Your Responsibility
Project Execution & Scientific Contribution:- Lead customer projects in nucleic acid therapeutics, including mRNA, siRNA and oligonucleotide formulations.
- Drive NAT-focused formulation development, comparability studies, stress testing, potency assays and stability assessments.
- Plan, execute and document analytical and formulation experiments in accordance with SOPs and project requirements.
- Analyze experimental data, participate in scientific discussions, and support reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Depending on experience, act as first or second project lead for selected customer projects.
- Proactively manage unexpected experimental results and contribute to troubleshooting activities.
- Independently prepare formulations and conduct analytical experiments with accuracy, reliability and strong organizational skills.
- Apply and continuously grow your scientific expertise in relevant analytical methods and instrumentation.
- Support method transfer, implementation and optimization activities.
- Act as System Owner for defined laboratory equipment, ensuring proper maintenance, calibration and qualification.
- Ensure compliance with Good Research Practice (GRP) and uphold high laboratory standards.
- Contribute to process optimization and the integration of new technologies within the nucleic acid therapeutics (NATs) platform.
- Bring forward new ideas and actively support the scientific evolution of our nucleic acid-based therapies platform.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Support onboarding and training of new colleagues and share expertise within the team.
What you need to succeed
- University degree in (bio)chemistry, biology, biochemistry, pharmacy, or related field
- PhD or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience, ideally in environments working with NAT platforms, LNP technologies, or analytical laboratories supporting nucleic acid-based products
- Previous experience in laboratory-scale LNPs production (preferably with Ignite system)
- Hands-on experience with analytical or formulation methods for LNPs and nucleic acid therapeutics
- Preferably practical experience in cell culture, cell-based assays, and qPCR/dPCR
- Willingness to work in an S2 laboratory environment (essential)
- Previous exposure to working in regulated laboratory settings (e.g., GMP) and strong understanding of quality standards is beneficial
- Strong scientific writing skills; proficiency in MS Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proactive, hands-on mindset with eagerness to learn new methods and technologies
- Team-oriented personality with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Structured, reliable and detail-oriented working style
