to join the scientific team led by Prof. Harald Prüß ( https://www.dzne.de/en/research/research-areas/fundamental-research/research-groups/pruess/research-areasfocus/ ), starting from June 2024.
Your tasks
- Working on new approach to immunotherapy and diagnostics in autoimmune brain diseases
- Using cell biology and molecular immunology approaches to study autoantibody-mediated diseases
- Assisting with all aspects of the experimental and administrative work with a focus on cell culture and tissue histology experiments
- Isolation of primary murine and human cells from peripheral blood monocytes and murine organs
- Mice handling
- Immunohistochemistry staining using cryostat sections, maintain cell lines, and assist in diagnostic assays including ELISA and single molecule assays
- Supporting the group’s administration (purchasing, lab organization)
Requirements
- Degree as BTA, MTA, PTA or CTA (biological-, medical-, pharmaceutical-, chemical-technical assistant [m/f/x])
- Familiarity with routine techniques such as cell culture, immunostaining, histology, and basic molecular biology
- Experience with laboratory management, good organizational skills
- Good communication skills as well as mathematical skills required in cell culture
- Interest in learning and adopting new techniques
