The Department of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Clinical Immunology at the University Hospital Düsseldorf (UKD) is offering a PhD student position within our research group, which is dedicated to developing novel, individualized drug targets and therapies for high-risk childhood leukemia. While event-free survival for childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) has improved to over 80% in the last decade, specific high-risk subgroups still face a dismal prognosis. To address this, we are investigating novel precision compounds and synergistic drug combinations, including clinically used drugs, to overcome drug resistance and target oncogene stabilization (Vogt et al. Cell Death Dis 14, 799 (2023)).
We are looking for a highly motivated and team-oriented
