The research team of Gabrijela Dumbović is inviting applications for a motivated
Research Assistant (M.Sc./B.Sc./BTA/MTA/VMTA) (m/f/d) (E 09a TV-G-U).
The position is available as soon as possible, initially limited to two years according to §14 para. 1 TzBfG (with the option of extension). We are looking for a team-oriented and independent staff member who enjoys basic biomedical research. The overarching goal of the position is to identify the molecular mechanisms and functions of RNA localization. Activities and responsibilities
Your role:
• Working with cell culture, single-molecule RNA imaging and microscopy
• Use of a broad range of molecular and cell biology techniques, including qPCR, FACS, PCR, Western blot, and functional cell culture assays
• Independent analysis and documentation of collected data
• Laboratory management, including general lab organization, ordering and managing materials and reagents, and general documentation of animal and genetic work
• Working with cell culture, single-molecule RNA imaging and microscopy
• Use of a broad range of molecular and cell biology techniques, including qPCR, FACS, PCR, Western blot, and functional cell culture assays
• Independent analysis and documentation of collected data
• Laboratory management, including general lab organization, ordering and managing materials and reagents, and general documentation of animal and genetic work
Qualification profile
General and technical requirements:
• You have successfully completed training as an MTA/BTA/CTA/laboratory technician, ideally with experience in advanced experimental research, or alternatively hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine, Molecular or Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• You enjoy experimental cutting-edge research in a laboratory environment with innovative technologies and work well as a team player in a multidisciplinary team.
• You bring experience with cell and molecular biology methods (PCR and cloning, flow cytometry, protein isolation and Western blotting, bacterial transformation, DNA purification, gel electrophoresis, genotyping, DNA/RNA extraction, histology, and microscopy).
• You possess excellent spoken and written English skills, German is a plus.
• You demonstrate reliability, motivation, a sense of responsibility, a thorough working style, and initiative.
• Ability to learn new protocols and technologies; willingness to work in a lab environment with innovative technologies.
