The Clark lab is a new research team at the University of Stuttgart working on the cell biology of the intestine and intestinal cancer. Our group combines high resolution live cell imaging, quantitative analysis and biophysics to better understand intestinal cell function and dynamics and to explore the role of cell and tissue mechanics in intestinal homeostasis and disease. In addition, we are also interested in understanding how aspects of cell differentiation, metabolism and interactions with the microbiome and immune system affect intestinal function. These studies involve the use of state-of-the-art culturing techniques for intestinal organoids and mouse models to understand how individual cell function contributes to overall tissue health and disease.
