THE PhD POSITIONS
We advertise PhD positions in three thematic PhD programs.The PhD program "Molecular Medicine”, offers interdisciplinary research training across all research areas of the Medical University of Graz aiming to educate scientists who bridge basic biomedical research with preclinical and clinical science.
The doc.funds PhD program Translational Immunology and Metabolism in Oncology (TIMO), funded by the Austrian Science Fund and the Medical University of Graz, is a cancer-focused, translational training program emphasizing cancer metabolism and anti-tumor immunity, with joint supervision by preclinical and clinical investigators to ensure strong translational education for both MD’s and basic scientists.
The doc.funds PhD program TRP-dependent Cation Signaling (TRPC.at), funded by the Austrian Science Fund and the Medical University of Graz, investigates the dysregulation of TRP ion channels in lung, heart, and brain diseases using interdisciplinary approaches from computational modeling to in-vivo experiments to advance understanding of disease mechanisms.

THE PHD STUDENT
As a PhD student at the Medical University of Graz, you will join an interdisciplinary community of supervisors, peers, and dedicated administrative support. PhD positions come with a 3-year contract (1 initial year plus a 2-year extension), including a competitive salary and social benefits. A fourth year may be possible upon successful completion of a research stay abroad.
