Shape the future of drug research with us?We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Scientist in Cardiovascular Research to lead a team of Research Assistants and to collaborate with highly skilled experts from various disciplines with the goal to convert innovative ideas into potent drugs by applying cutting-edge science.

Principal Scientist in Cardiovascular Research (m/f/d)
Tasks & responsibilities
- In your new role you will take on the leadership of an in vitro pharmacology laboratory and manage a team of highly skilled Research Assistants.
- In addition, you will be responsible for the scientific identification and validation of novel therapeutic approaches to treat cardiovascular diseases and oversee late-stage project phases.
- You will develop and implement cutting-edge methods and technologies to continuously advance drug discovery.
- With your expertise, you will lead drug discovery projects in a matrix organization and collaborate closely with disciplines such as medicinal chemistry, biologics development, and other supporting functions.
- Furthermore, you will identify and leverage external collaboration opportunities that strengthen the department’s research and contribute to the evaluation of licensing opportunities.
- Finally, you will promote scientific exchange by publishing papers and presenting research findings at international conferences.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular pharmacology or related disciplines with expert knowledge in cardiovascular biology
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or long-term professional postdoctoral experience, including leadership experience
- In-depth understanding of drug discovery process
- Demonstrated track record of publications in scientific journals
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Independent, goal-oriented and pro-active working attitude, flexibility as well as innovative thinking and problem solving
- Fluency in English spoken and written; German is a plus
