Your tasks and responsibilities
As part of our Protein Science team within the Antibody Discovery and Development Department, you will focus on the expression of recombinant proteins, antibodies and multispecific molecules in mammalian expression systems. You will advance the development of our transient expression platform, driving the discovery and development of innovative large-molecule biopharmaceuticals. Your responsibilities will include:
Plan and execute transient transfections in HEK and CHO - at various research scales
Develop and optimize our transient expression platforms: process, scale-up, yield, and quality
Run the molecular biology behind it: cloning and plasmid DNA prep at transfection scale
Contribute to construct design and feasibility assessment
Step in as dedicated backup for protein purification and downstream processing
Support analytics: characterization of recombinant proteins using state-of-the-art biochemical and biophysical methods (SDS-PAGE, LAL assay, HPLC)
Take responsibility for protein science lab equipment and infrastructure
Carefully evaluate, interpret, and document results in electronic lab journals and databases
Present data in internal meetings
What we are looking for
You are the ideal candidate for this position if you bring the following:
You hold a vocational qualification as CTA, BTA, MTA or an equivalent university degree in a relevant field; at least 4 years of professional laboratory experience is preferred
You have in-depth experience in mammalian cell culture and transient transfection (HEK, CHO)
You have solid experience in cloning and molecular biology techniques; experience in construct design is a plus
You consider downstream processing and adjacent analytical methods as a welcome variety of your daily business
You pay attention to detail in experimental execution and documentation and have solid knowledge of relevant lab techniques and equipment, as well as standard laboratory and MS Office software
You are a well-organized, reliable team player with a hands-on mentality and strong communication skills
