To strengthen our Optical Quantum Technologies research group, we are seeking a:
Postdoctoral Researcher in Optical Quantum Technologies (f/m/x)
at the earliest possible date for applied research projects in quantum optics and photonics.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct and further develop research projects in quantum optics, including theoretical modeling and/or experimental implementation
- Supervise PhD candidates and students and contribute to the organization of the research group
- Develop laboratory experiments in quantum technologies (e.g., NV centers, laser spectroscopy, quantum key distribution)
- Publish scientific results in international peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences and workshops
- Contribute to the preparation of research proposals
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, photonics, or a related field
- PhD in the same or a closely related discipline
- Experimental experience in (quantum) optics, electronics, and laser systems
- Ideally, experience in one or more of the following areas: microfabrication and testing of micro-optical structures (e.g., Nanoscribe), NV centers, photonic integrated circuits (PICs), fiber optics
- Design and simulation of optical systems (e.g., ray tracing, wave propagation using Zemax, Ansys, or COMSOL), programming skills (preferably Python, C++, MATLAB) for simulations and laboratory control, version control tools (e.g., Git, SVN)
- Strong ability to conduct independent scientific research and demonstrated research excellence through publications in international peer-reviewed journals
- Experience in supervising students or teaching, with a commitment to supporting early-career researchers
- Experience working in international research teams and excellent written and spoken English
