Senior Postdoc/T cell immunology (m/f/d)
The position is initially limited to 3 years with a tenure option.Bonn is a major centre of immunological research in Germany specialized at inflammatory diseases, microenvironmental and transcriptional immune regulation and immune pattern sensing. The research groups at the Institute of Experimental Immunology (IEI) investigate the mechanisms underlying immune-mediated diseases and anti-infectious defense in different organs. Our institute is embedded in a lively immunological community consisting of the Cluster of Excellence "Immunosensation", several DFG-funded immunological research consortia and numerous core facilities offering multi-OMICS analysis, functional genomics, single cell RNA-Seq, epigenomics (ATAC-seq and ChIP-seq) and metabolomics. The Kallies lab, currently being established, at the Institute, is looking for a senior postdoc to contribute to their extensive research program on the cellular and molecular regulation of T cell immunity in chronic infection and cancer.
Tasks:
- Design, planning, and execution of experiments involving mouse models of infection and/or cancer
- Supervising students and/or junior researchers
- Proficiency in:
- Mouse handling and experimentation
- Flow cytometry
- Cell culture techniques
- Molecular biology methods, including RNA isolation and processing
Requirements:
- PhD in life sciences (e.g., biology, biomedicine, immunology, or related disciplines)
- Minimum of three years of postdoctoral research experience in an academic environment.
- Strong background in immunology, molecular biology, and cell biology; experience with bioinformatic data analysis is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory animals (mice) in accordance with animal welfare regulations
- Demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring students and technical personnel.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Strong organizational and project-planning skills Ability to work independently
